Same four X positions and lateral scale as cross sectionEquations, definitions & limitations
Read before interpreting depthExact commanded geometry: line centers are separated by fill interval s; pulse centers along each line are separated by p = v / f (mm, with f in Hz). Nominal 2D spot overlap is 1 − s/D, clamped to 0% for non-overlapping spots. Repetition repeats the entire pattern; it does not change XY spacing.
Here w is the 1/e² beam radius (assuming your 0.100 mm optical diameter is specified on that basis), δ is an experimentally fitted effective depth coefficient, and F_th is an experimentally fitted ablation threshold. The per-pulse depth law is zero below the threshold. The browser sums the contributing discrete pulse positions around the displayed section; it does not invent a semicircular cross section. Ra is calculated by numerical integration of the displayed centerline geometry across the middle two hatch pitches, without ISO profile filtering or real material microtexture.
Important physical assumptions and uncertainties
Constant average-power scaling from the configured wattage to the software percentage; Gaussian beam with a known 1/e² diameter; identical pulses and identical pass alignment; constant fluence threshold and δ; linear summation of removed depth per pulse. These assumptions omit power-vs-setting calibration, beam quality, wavelength-dependent absorption, transient heat transfer, incubation, redeposition, plasma shielding, melting and re-solidification, material change, defocus, hatch-border effects, laser acceleration, controller pulse-phase, and 3D workpiece geometry. Actual grooves may have raised lips and a materially different width or depth. A one-line depth measurement fits δ only at the tested settings; it does not validate extrapolation.

¹ Average power is nominally set to configured wattage × configured efficiency × power percentage. Real power versus setting can be nonlinear. ² The browser's geometrical output is conditional on unverified model coefficients until calibrated. It is not a certified surface roughness, an ablation depth specification or a laser safety assessment.
